The Knickerbocker Baseball Academy is a Tucson based, competitive travel team – Year Round Program!

The Knickerbocker Baseball Academy is not a brick & mortar “state of the art” training facility equipped with fancy batting cages and expensive pitching machines. It is not staffed with former major leaguers or college coaches.

KBA is not a seasonal quick fix, high volume lessons factory that dabbles in youth baseball.

KBA is an established travel club program that plays USABT. Training, accordingly, for tough, accelerated competition with continual preparation for major tournaments. KBA does not distribute playing time evenly. Players earn playing time through hard work, determination, and game time performances.

The club term “Academy” is used to define what the team is all about – A continual work in progress shaped by training and experiences, stair stepping to success…..

It’s a mindset of the parent and the player to continually improve and strive to become better; developing a strong work ethic and maintaining a positive attitude to become the total team player. In KBA your son will learn to play a variety of positions leaving your son greater options in future endeavors. The goal is to train your son to be an "all around ball player" not just a one position/role player, whether that be in Junior High, Junior Olympic baseball, High School, College, or Professional baseball. As players continue to progress to higher levels of baseball most do not play the position to which they have grown accustom. Those who can adapt and overcome new trials and better competition move on.

It’s KBA's commitment by the coaching staff to provide professional coaching, instruction, skill building and experiences that will enhance player development and increase the possibilities of your son continuing on to higher levels of competitive baseball. Mistakes and failure are an inevitable part of baseball and provide quality teaching and learning opportunities. We will teach players that how positively one reacts to mistakes and failures is an important part of success, not only in baseball, but in life as well.

Below is a template for the AVERAGE KBA team. More competitive teams may be involved in more USABT, and PST workouts in preparation for Junior Olympic competition.

Aside from high level coaching, quality instruction, and academy style training, players get to compete against the best teams in the state and throughout the Western United States.

KBA plays on the local, state and national levels in various sanctioned tournaments.
